Continue a Colorful Easter Tradition. Imagine the sense of joy when a child receives an Easter Basket! This year's Easter Basket Ministry will focus on the needs of children 3-5 years of age, who accompany their parents to Mary's Center's Briya Public Charter School  in Washington, DC, which provides English, computer skills, parenting and civics training to parents while preparing their children ages 0-5 for future school success.

Here is how this fun and low-stress ministry works

Parishioners create and donate Easter Baskets including things like books in Spanish and English, a small stuffed animal, a pair of colorful socks, or a small toy like sidewalk chalk, coloring book and crayons or a small outdoor game. A few Easter sweet treats are always appreciated too, but best not to go overboard on the sweets. Basket-makers deliver their creations to St. Margaret's on Palm Sunday, April 13. (It is helpful to cover baskets with cellophane, but if you do not have any, we will bring  extra to cover them.)  After each service that day you will have the option of making  a donation for a basket.  You can take it home for a loved one, or donate it back for us to deliver to Mary's Center! This year all monetary donations will benefit  the Camp EDOW scholarship fund (see description below), allowing us to help two good causes at the same time.
