f Church SchoolWe at St. Margaret’s are also blessed with a wonderful group of caring adults who give their time every Sunday during the academic year to minister to and guide our children in learning about our faith.Sunday School generally begins the Sunday after Welcome Home Sunday and ends around the second Sunday in June. We are always in need of experienced and enthusiastic organizers to help us with the Sunday School room, coordinate activities or lead field trips. There is a particular need for an overall coordinator for the Children’s Education Program. New teachers (no experience required!) are always welcome. If you are interested in teaching Young Children’s Sunday School, contact Miranda Cooter at amcooter@gmail.com or 301-588-1098 "Younger" Groups (ages 4-10) HighlightsTwo groups divided by age and maturity level meet in the Sunday School room: - Ages 4-7 meet during each service and rejoin parents at communion - Ages 8-10 meet between services (at 10:15 - also known as the “10:15 Team”)- Parents decide when a child is ready to join the 4-7 group and ready to move into the “10:15 Team” - 10:15 Team presumes that children can read, write and participate in structured discussion - Lectionary Based Curriculum (Living the good news) will be used for the 2010-2011 school year For more information about the Young Children’s Sunday School, contact Miranda Cooter at amcooter@gmail.com or 301-588-1098 Journey to Adulthood ProgramThe Journey to Adulthood (J2A) program seeks to guide teens and young adults aged 11-18 through recognizing their emerging self. This is an incredibly important part of our individual and corporate stewardship, and one that provides those called with incredible rewards and fun! Classes are taught in modules, so we are asking for commitments of six weeks in length . . . . renewable, of course, once you discover how much you love sharing your faith with our younger members. In the interest of full disclosure, we should warn you, that your faith will grow, too! If you are interested in being one of our Sunday morning Sunday school teachers, wonderful! NurserySt. Margaret's takes great pride in our children. We agree with the oft said maxim that children are not the future of the church; they are the church! Complimentary professional child care for children 4 and under is provided during special celebrations as well as every Sunday morning from 8:45 AM until the conclusion of the 11:15 AM Holy Eucharist. When you arrive at the Church, ask the ushers to direct you to the nursery and play area. For more information about the Nursery please call the church office or visit us in the Forum Room. Christmas PageantEach year, St. Margaret's presents the story of the Nativity with the participation of the children and youth of the parish. The story is recreated in dramatic form with the help of adults, and it is a cherished part of the Christmas Season at St. Margarets.
