Education for Ministry, commonly referred to as EFM, is a four year course of study developed by and taught under the auspices of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. It is widely used by various denominations around the world as a tool to give Christians an enhanced understanding of the Bible, Church History, and Theological Issues, as well as, training in "Theological Reflection." TR helps Christians see the every day events of their lives from a spiritual point of view. It teaches participants to incorporate the lessons of scripture, the wisdom of tradition, and their own God given reason into both their understanding of events in their lives, and their reactions to those events and the events of the world in which we all live.
