Thanks to all of you who have begun volunteering in the parish office. We always need help answering the phones and doors, filing, doing large mailings, and other duties as may arise. Have a block of time free during the week? Volunteer angels to help in the St. M's office needed especially in this crunch time before Easter. If you could come in for a few hours Mon - Friday between 9am and 5pm, please contact either Emily Guthrie eguthrie@stmargaretsdc.org or Wayne Floyd, office@stmargaretsdc.org to put your name on the schedule. You cannot believe how helpful it is to have someone answer the phones and the doors, etc.! Thank you in advance.

Confirmation Class

posted Mar 27, 2014, 11:44 AM by Parish Administrator

Episcopal 102 (Confirmation Class) Starts April 6: Confirmation is a sacramental rite in which a baptized person makes an adult affirmation of their faith.  In confirmation we commit to the Anglican/Episcopal way of being a disciple of Jesus Christ.  Reception is a formal way to join an Episcopal Church for those baptized and confirmed in a different tradition. Episcopal 102 is a five part course that will be offered Sunday, April 6 - April 27, after the 11:15 a.m. service in the parlor (skipping Easter Sunday, April 20).  Those who wish to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, those who have been confirmed or received previously and want to reaffirm your commitment, and those who just would like to delve into what it means to be an Episcopalian -- all are welcome to join in this series. Sign up sheet will be on the welcome table  in the parish hall. For more info see our Seminarian, Jacob Piece at jpierce@vts.edu or the Rector, Kym, at klucas@stmargaretsdc.org.

Building and Grounds Update

posted Jan 9, 2014, 12:26 PM by Parish Administrator

Building and Grounds update.   Your Building and Grounds Committee has been diligently working with the Vestry to address the needs of our aging building. This year we have repaired the leaking roof over the nave, replaced the roof over the Sunday School rooms, reworked the gas lines for our kitchen so that a new stove for Charlie's Place could be installed up to code, and tackled major plumbing work in several sections of our building. This type of work is well beyond the scope of our operating budget.  And so we want to make you aware of the opportunity for additional gifts or memorials to our Building Fund now and in the future.  Your generosity already is manifest in all that so many of you do for the parish; if you are able to do a little more for these larger capital projects please contact the rector, Kym Lucas, to discuss our current needs.
