Rector's Reflection for December 7, 2012

Each week during Advent, I am passing along nuggets of prayer that I come across on-line.  This week I've redacted another excellent offering from the Campus Ministries of Creighton U.  This one is called, A Prayer For Times of Exhaustion:

Dear God, I'm so tired.  Each day this week the "to-do" list has gotten longer and the frenzy of life has gotten wilder.  Everything is rushed, even crazy.  The season has barely started and I am already behind.

Help me, Lord. Wrap me tightly in your loving embrace. Remind me of what is really important this season.  Give me the confidence to rest in you. Teach me to say "No" whenever my "Yes" would take me further from your peace.  Fill me with patience, gentleness and humor, even for myself. Lord Jesus, come into those places in my life that dearly need your coming.  Remind me of your deep love for me that I might share the fire of that love with everyone around me.  Amen.

The peace of Christ be with you.
