Rector's Reflection for August 16, 2012

No matter how wonderful my vacation (and this year's vacation was wonderful), I always feel like I need at least a week to recover. I return home carrying mounds of dirty laundry, only to face an empty refrigerator and back-to-school mayhem. Of course I don't have a week. It is always a case of hitting the ground running, praying that I will catch up by next vacation.

Yet this time of year excites me! I've always looked forward to the restart of school and the church program year. The promise of familiar rhythms and the prospect of new encounters stir the adrenaline and get the creative juices flowing. Coming this fall: a new Sunday School format; the Children's Choir; Thinking About Confirmation (a class for ages 16 to adult); the return of mid-week Evening Eucharist; and more! Between loads of laundry, I will be working with the staff and Vestry to put the finishing touches on the calendar for the coming year and hope to have it available to everyone by the end of August. In the meantime, I ask your prayers for St. Margaret's: for our vestry, staff, office volunteers, Sunday School, worship facilitators, and music ministry. Give thanks with me for everyone who helps make ministry happen and pray that we will all experience the blessings the Creator will bring us in the coming year!   Kym+
