Holy Week takes a lot of planning. Yet all of the planning would be for naught without the amazing VOLUNTEERS who freely give their time and talent to bring the liturgies to life. I am deeply grateful for all that they do and this week, I offer my "shout-outs" to my Holy Week Heroes.
With deep appreciation, I give thanks for:
The Music Bringers
Gene Batiste, Tom Blackburn, Gail Collins and the St. Margaret's Choir:
whose music lifted our hearts
The Space Shapers
Florence Palmer and the altar guild members
who created and re-created the space for each worship service;
Bob Healy and the flower guild team
that made the nave look like spring.
The Meal Makers
John McCall, Dan Hicks and the "Kitchen Krew"
: whose efforts made our Agape meal on Maundy Thursday elegant and delicious; and appreciation to everyone who brought food for our Easter potluck.
The Worship Leaders
Ron Lorentzen and Tracy Lush for riding herd
Peter Winkler for making all of those scripture lessons inclusive
; for all of the lectors, lay preachers, and chalice bearers for their patient work.
The Flame-Builder, Clergy-Minder, Cross Wielder, Peace Maker: Gary Collins
whose broad shoulders make my burden light and whose gentle spirit keeps me sane
Finally, I give thanks for all of those faithful souls who showed up for worship. You make church happen by your presence. And for those of you who showed up to worship for multiple services....YOU ROCK!
I thank God always for the people of St. Margaret's. And I am especially thankful for all the volunteers who, once again, made my Holy Week more beautiful.
